At least that’s been my experience.
Back in 2013 a close friend came to visit Philadelphia while I was in school at a nearby campus. I met up with her in Center City, excited to check out the penthouse apartment that her mother’s friend asked her to house sit during the visit. The apartment itself was breathtaking with spectacular views of the surrounding city.
In the mood for late night tea, we rummaged through the cabinets only to discover that each drawer of the massive kitchen island was filled to the brim with teas from all over the world. I told myself in that moment that this was something I wanted for myself; a kitchen full of teas!
Like most people, the pandemic threw me into a paradigm shift that I was not prepared for! It led me to test a few hypotheses that I had around my love for tea:
By making my own tea blends I can bolster my immune system.
By exploring herbology I can regulate my nervous system.
By engaging in the ritual of daily tea, I can inject a sense of simple luxury into my everyday life.
A few years into this process I have not only proven these hypotheses correct, but I continue to share my love of tea in incredible and meaningful ways, creating alchemical fixings for the human condition.
